Rain Forest Hiking

You will experience a 45-minute drive through typical native towns going to El Yunque Rainforest. There you will see lush tropical vegetation, thousand year old trees, wild orchids, giant ferns, tropical hardwoods, and waterfalls. From the heart of this breathtaking beauty you’ll hear in incessant yet delightful chanting of the “Coqui” and the chattering ofn unseen tropical birds. A 45-minute hike down La Mina trail down to La Mina Waterfalls. This is a semi athletic trail down to the falls and once you arrive, you can take a refreshing swim in the falls. You’ll enjoy the magnificent views of the forest and of the northeastern coast of the island. Tour includes a backpack or Snack bag that is distributed to each person.

Rain Forest & Luquillo Experience

The Tour of the Rainforest is the same as described in the half day Rainforest tour with the addition of a stop at Luquillo Beach for sunbathing and swimming on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. For optional luncheon in the foothills of the rainforest we can set up a luncheon at a local restaurant.

Camuy Caves & Arecibo Observatory

This tour takes you to the northwestern part of the island. Camuy Cave Park is known as one of the most massive cave networks in this hemisphere. Recently two craterlike sinkholes and caves within this network have been beautifully developed. The caverns are easily visited with modern trolley cars taking you down the entrance of the caves. You will thn enjoy a guided tour of the great cavern system seeing the Underground River as well as huge stalagmites and rocky ravines. You are then escorted back to the trolleys to the upper level where you can purchase refreshments and souvenirs before your return to San Juan. Departure is early in the morning returning mid-afternoon.

After the caves we will be on our way to the Arecibo Observatory, which features the world’s largest radar/radio telescope and is operated by Cornell University.

The Observatory is conducting groundbreaking astronomy work, including the SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) program. A 20-acre radar dish, with a 600-ton suspended platform hovering over it, sits in an impressive 565-foot deep sinkhole while it examines planets and monitors natural radio emissions from distant galaxies, pulsars and quasars….all from Arecibo!

San Salvador Rain Forest Rappelling & Zipline

An exciting full day experience that takes place in the secluded Carite Rainforest in the countryside of Caguas. We are the only ecotourism company allowed in this virgin, clean and quiet rainforest which was once populated by the Taino Indians. The water is so clean it's drinkable. This exciting full day tour includes a pristine river hike, stair casing up and down reddish colored rocks, belaying up a beautiful waterfall, and rappel into an amazing 80 ft. tall waterfall.

The river is ankle deep and no swimming skills are required. We count with 5 exhilarating zip lines, one of them that cross almost 400 feet of cable across a breathtaking canyon with waterfalls. We will provide you with fresh fruit during the adventure. You will also be treated with a delicious homemade Puerto Rican meal in a typical countryside setting. This tour starts about 75mins away from San Juan. Participants are required to be between 11 and 65 years of age, have a good physical condition, weigh 230 lbs. or less, and have a waist size of 44 or less. Participants with recent surgeries, injuries and/or pregnancies are not permitted in this adventure.

Rain Forest Twilight Adventure – night activity

Did you know that about 60% of the El Yunque rainforest inhabitants are nocturnal, (Only out at night) and are very seldom seen during the daytime? Due to strict forestry park hours all El Yunque Tours and guests visiting the El Yunque rainforest in Puerto Rico must be out of the forest no later than 6:00pm! See a side of the El Yunque rainforest that few have ever seen, heard or smelled and trust me it is an experience not to be missed!

Imagine entering the forest just about one hour before the sunsets and via a guided El Yunque tours learning about its daytime flora & fauna, walking along a manmade & natural trail that winds its way through the El Yunque rainforest to a wild & scenic river better known as the Mameyes.

Rain Forest Half Day

You will experience a drive through a typical native towns going to El Yunque Rainforest. There you will see lush tropical vegetation, wild orchids, giant ferns, tropical hardwoods, and waterfalls. You will stop at La Coca Falls for photo shoots then on to Yokahú Tower for a fantastic view of the North coastline. There also will be a twenty minute guided walk on Caimitillo trail through the forest to view first hand the flora & fauna in this natural wonder. After your visit the Rainforest there will be a stop at local fruit stand to purchase fresh fruits and beverages then returning back to the hotel. Tour can be offered morning or afternoon.

Explore Cueva Ventana

The Window Cave Adventure, better known as “The Cueva Ventana Tour” is a unique ecologically oriented experience. A 20 minute, of a medium to medium low intensity, hike will take you to discover a live cave that will lead you to witness the most exhilarating and beautiful breathtaking panoramic view of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

During the hike, our bilingual Environmental Interpreters will introduce you, in a very entertaining and educational way, to our Pre-Colombian Taíno culture as well as our native flora and fauna. Once inside the cave, our visitors learn about our resident bat population and our nonpoisonous giant spider typical of this cave.

You will see the geological formations of a karst cave like Cueva Ventana and you will discover the Taíno culture petroglyphs and stone engravings.

Caving & Adventure

A fun, world-class adventure in striking wild scenery – beautiful hike through our protected rain forest. Enjoy a spectacular cave exploration & exciting body rafting journey through canyons. Explore the unspoiled jungle and underground karst, paradise in the islands northwest region. Appreciate wild life and discover a hidden world of wild limestone caves with fantastic formations as you drift along an underground river.

This is an amazing multi-series adventure through pristine scenarios… A truly unforgettable and relaxing eco-experience. This tour starts about 75mins away from San Juan. Tour may be canceled due to inclement weather conditions. Prior to the trip, you must fill out MEDICAL FORM. You must be in good health to participate in the activities. For their own safety, woman that are pregnant cannot participate, recent surgeries, heart condition, respiratory system conditions, or back injuries.

Bio Bay Kayaking – night activity

An adventure not to be missed while in Puerto Rico! Join this fully guided night trip into one of the most amazing natural phenomenon of the world! Paddle your way through the mystical mangrove channels leading to “Laguna Grande.”

There, you will meet our glowing friends, the Pyrodinium Bahamense, microscopic plankton capable of producing natural light at the touch of your hand. Learn how this fragile and unique ecosystem maintains a perfect balance of life, and what you can do to protect such a special place. Watch how every stroke of your paddle leaves behind a glowing swirl of blue light, and fish light up their path like shooting stars in the water.

The adventure to Laguna Grande can only be described as magical, creating memories that will last a lifetime! Combined weight not to exceed 450 pounds. Pregnant woman are not allowed to participate on this tour due to the duration & physical requirements of the kayak.
